I will try to implement this feature, but no promises.
You can also use TLS / SSL with XPM4 to encrypt mail messages.

thats not the same. with that ssl enabled on connect only the connection between localhost and the first mailserver is secured. but after that the connection between the other mailservers is no more encrypted and the mail-text is transfered in plaintext! after the email has arrived the target, it is stored on the machine in plaintext, but maybe this is not wanted? everyone with access to that machine can read it, but with that feature only the person with the private key is able to decrypt it!

Yes, you have right, but the SSL encryption is the temporary solution now with XPM4.
